Yoga, God, and a ride-share driver

Yoga saved my life during the two years I spent with my former abuser. He would grab me by my throat and bite me with his false teeth, he had them young. He held me with those teeth in such a way that he knew I would be still in between yelling in my face, due to not wanting to get my face ripped or cut into. The bruises went away quickly and I prayed there would never be a 'next time." However, there was always a next time.. until God saved me. Yoga and God, and a ride-share Driver. I went to the chiropractor to help with the neck pains and even had a massage therapist come to my home to see if this technique would render the best results. I can recall yelling to him one day, after he'd snatched me up by my throat, 'All of our ancestors have witnessed this psychopathic, unhealthy behavior and my deceased grandmothers aren't going to let you keep disrespecting, robbing, and inflicting trauma on me, their granddaughter!' He became terribly afraid and kept taking puffs off of his vaporizer very quickly. About a month later, on a Sunday morning, a concerned ride-share driver who I'd snagged a ride with called the police after that ride one day due to our heart to heart about recent life events. We was arrested immediately. I haven't seem him since. I often question my own sanity when I wake some mornings and wish I could hold him and love him, tbh
