I learned today that consent should always be enthusiastic, and I should not feel like I have to do something in order to maintain the relationship. I realised that I was actually assaulted by 3 different people. One of them when I was a child and by a family member. Several times. I tried so hard to forget what happened that sometimes I doubt it did. The other two were boyfriends. They were great people actually, caring and loving, and I felt like it was my duty to consent. Sometimes I would wake up and feel his body parts.
