Message to a Survivor
I survived Covert Incest, Child on Child Sexual Abuse, Sexual Assault, and Rape. I urge every fellow survivor to see your trauma is "bad enough". I used to think what I was going through was nothing compared to what other survivors went through. But trauma involving betrayal- those who you trusted, your family, your friends, your romantic partners, can hit as deeply without overt violence. Invalidating your experiences, and whether purposefully or not, also degrading others with similar stories, will only cause more pain. Once I started believing that what I had gone through really was "bad enough", I trusted my body more. When I'm scared, I seek comfort from someone who has proven they won't take advantage of my vulnerability. I hope all us survivors can find healing in whatever journey works for each of us. Somatic therapy and radical acceptance have worked for me, feel free to reach out with what works for you!
Message of Healing
healing means that I can have a healthy relationship with my fiancee in all aspects. Communication, Respect, Support, Romance, and Sexual. We are both CSA survivors who were also SA'd as adults. I am a primarily visual artist but I process often through art, whether that is painting, writing, acting, animating, or tattooing. I am 26 and on my healing journey.
